Navarro Research and Engineering is recruiting for an Analytical Operations Supervisor in Richland, WA.

This position will support Navarro-ATL. Navarro-ATL is located in Richland, WA, and operates, manages, and maintains the 222-S Laboratory Complex for the Department of Energy. The Navarro-ATL members are Navarro Research and Engineering, Inc. (Oak Ridge, TN), and Advanced Technologies and Laboratories International (Gaithersburg, MD).
The Analytical Operations Supervisor is responsible for providing leadership and oversight to laboratory personnel in the planning and execution of daily laboratory field operations. The Analytical Operations Supervisor will ensure laboratory field personnel are compliant with company mandated and other applicable policies, procedures, programs, and regulations, including DOE directives, personnel safety, environmental compliance, and safety of the general public, helping to ensure a safe and efficient laboratory operation.
Responsibilities:
- Supervises daily laboratory field operations, providing routine mentoring for chemists and chemical technologists.
- Promotes a positive, safety-conscious, and collaborative work environment consistent with the Navarro-ATL mission, vision, and values.
- Implements Integrated Safety Management System (ISMS), Voluntary Protection Program (VPP), and Environmental Management System (EMS) responsibilities.
- Solicits and resolves work and safety issues to ensure the safe and efficient performance of work in the field.
- Maintains lab room housekeeping standards, including conducting routine housekeeping and Radioactive Material Area (RMA) inspections.
- Plans and conducts operational event drills, and coaches for improved readiness.
- Ensures a uniform approach to lab instrument troubleshooting and maintenance by chemists, including maintaining records of activities in lab instrument notebooks.
- Tracks lab instrument user maintenance to completion.
- Provides chemist and chemical technologist fundamental training and/or evaluation.
- Supports instrument software maintenance and upgrade needs.
- Ensures the routine and complete instrument data back-ups.
- Performs and/or supports laboratory program and method assessments.
- Provides laboratory tours for site visitors.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- BS degree in Chemistry or related scientific discipline and eight years related supervisory and/or laboratory work experience, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- A commitment to analytical excellence and unwavering ethics.
- Intermediate proficiency of Microsoft Office programs (particularly Word and Excel).
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 10 or more years of related experience in a nuclear facility.
- Multi-disciplined Analytical Chemistry laboratory work experience.
- Demonstrated scientific communication skills, knowledge of laboratory operations, hazardous waste generation requirements, and quality assurance practices.
- Knowledge and demonstrated application of the DOE Conduct of Operations requirements.

Annual Salary Range (based on full-time 40 hours per week)
Grade 18: $104,175 - $131,425
Grade 20: $122,813 - $154,838
The grade level offered to the selected candidate will be based on business needs and the candidate's education, training, and/or relevant experience.
In accordance with the Navarro Research and Engineering, Inc (Navarro) salary determination process, Navarro takes into consideration the level of assigned job duties and responsibilities and the candidate’s education, training, and/or experience relative to internal peers and the external labor market.
