Web Server Specialist

The Web Server Specialist is responsible for the deployment, configuration, management, and support of web servers and web applications within the organization. This role includes ensuring the security, availability, and performance of web services. The specialist will collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement new technologies and optimize existing web infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deploy and configure web servers (IIS, Apache, Nginx) for various applications.
• Monitor server performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal uptime.
• Implement security best practices for web applications and server infrastructure.
• Perform regular updates and patches on web server software.
• Collaborate with developers to support application deployment and configuration.
• Document processes and maintain updated records of web server configurations.
• Provide technical support and guidance to internal teams regarding web server technologies.

Requirements

Required Skills:

• Proven experience with web server technologies (IIS, Apache, Nginx) - 5+ years preferred.
• Strong understanding of web protocols (HTTP, HTTPS, DNS).
• Experience with security protocols and implementing security measures for web applications.
• Familiarity with server hardware and operating systems (Windows/Linux).
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex server issues.
• Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with teams.

Preferred Skills:

• Knowledge of cloud technologies (AWS, Azure) is a plus.
• Experience with scripting languages (PowerShell, Bash) for automation.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
• Understanding of web application performance tuning and optimization techniques.
