Since 1957 we have provided our customers a single source solution for warehouse, distribution, transportation, packing and crating and air freight services. We have been growing significantly over the last few years and continue to grow at a rapid pace.
We are currently looking for a dedicated Transportation Coordinator to play the critical role of ensuring intermodal containers are tracked and milestones updated within various customer systems, websites and spreadsheets. This position also communicates with customers frequently via e-mail and occasionally over the phone. The position is full time Monday through Friday with overtime and weekend work as necessary.
The Transportation Coordinator role is intended to be an entry level position with the possibility to progress into other Transportation Dispatch & Operations positions.
Essential Functions
- Updating Givens’ Transportation Management System (TMS)
- Extracting container status information from various websites
- Maintaining Customer Portals with updated information
- Frequent Email Communication:
- Providing status updates to customers
- Requesting container support from Brokers and Ship-lines
- Providing assistance with creating Port Reservations for intermodal containers
- Verifying Yard Check information
- Other Administrative duties as time permits (Scanning, Filing, etc.)
Requirements
- Typing 50+ WPM
- Excellent Attention to Detail
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Ability to problem solve
- Must be able to speak, read, and understand English fluently
Experience
- Past experience with Transportation, Intermodal Freight, Ship-lines, etc. is preferred, but not required
