Idea Entity, a Microsoft Gold Partner, is a global change management consulting firm committed to delivering customer outcomes that change the way business is done. We are looking for an experienced Software Development Manager who will assume a key role on our team.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Software Development Manager to lead our talented team of developers. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully managing software development projects, fostering a positive team culture, and delivering high-quality software solutions. As a Software Development Manager, you will be responsible for designing and implementing the goals for the software development projects and you will play a crucial role in shaping our technology strategy and ensuring the successful delivery of projects on time and within budget.

This role will be operating on a hybrid schedule with three (3) telework days a week on-site out of our Herndon, Virginia office. Due to the nature of this role, US Citizenship/Green Card/Work Authorization is required and is not eligible for sponsorship.

Requirements

Team Leadership:

  • Lead, mentor, and inspire our team of software developers to achieve their full potential.

Project Management:

  • Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of software development projects.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management and quality assurance, to ensure project success.
  • Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders.

Technical Strategy:

  • Contribute to the development and execution of the overall technology strategy.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies, recommending new tools and methodologies to drive innovation.
  • Work closely with the architecture team to ensure scalable and maintainable software solutions.

Quality Assurance:

  • Implement and enforce coding standards and best practices.
  • Oversee the testing and quality assurance processes to ensure the delivery of high-quality software.

Resource Management:

  • Manage resource allocation, workload, and project timelines.
  • Identify and address resource gaps and bottlenecks to ensure optimal team productivity.
  • Manage and elevate team’s performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a related field.
  • A minimum of ten (10) years of hands-on software development experience with React, JavaScript, Bootstrap, HTML5, CSS3, React.JS, and Azure.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of proven experience in software development and project management.
  • At least five (5) years of hands-on experience in managing, mentoring, and leading software engineering teams.
  • Experience with Microsoft technology including C# .NET, .NET Core SQL.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as interpersonal skills.
  • Solid understanding of software development life cycle and methodologies.
  • Proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
  • Proficient in finding creative solutions to complex problems.
  • Expertise in programming and debugging.
  • Experience with various IT Software Development Life Cycles and software quality assurance practices, including CMMI.
