Full Job Description
C & B Material Handling, LLC (part of the C & B Equipment family), a leader and supplier of choice in material handling equipment, automation solutions, and industrial equipment rental, is seeking a Material Handling Service Technician for our location in Lynchburg, Virginia. This role is designed for a technician who thrives on ensuring the smooth operation of material handling equipment, providing top-notch service, and fostering strong customer relationships.

Essential Duties:
- Perform basic diagnostics and repairs on a variety of material handling equipment.
- Engage in training programs necessary for the development of skills and knowledge.
- Maintain up-to-date product knowledge on all our products.
- Keep a clean work area and conduct work in an orderly fashion.
- Manage the condition of vehicles, inventory, tools, and equipment.
- Load and unload equipment as requested.
- Promote and sell the service department’s offerings to customers, including service work, inspections, and parts, to enhance customer safety and satisfaction.
- Mentor other service technicians with less experience.
- Adhere to all safety procedures and guidelines, ensuring a safe work environment.
Requirements
- Previous material handling equipment operation and repair experience.
- Ability to meet physical demands and duration of physical exertion generally required to perform tasks in support of all job functions, for example - sitting, standing, walking, lifting, carrying, reaching, pushing, and pulling.
- Knowledge of tools and techniques used to repair equipment.
- Proficient knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Experience in operating vehicles and equipment, including those used for diagnostic purposes.
- Valid driver's license and safe driving record required.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Associates degree in diesel technology or equivalent preferred.
