ARServices is seeking a Proposal Writer to work in Falls Church, VA area.
The Proposal Writer will a key contributor within the proposal operations and marketing support functions in a fast-growing professional services company, having a significant impact on our continued growth. The Proposal Writer will support the development of documents and written narratives for proposals and other sales documentation (such as RFIs, SSNs, RFQs, etc.), working closely with management and functional experts.
In addition, the Proposal Writer will work responsibly in proposal teams as a key writer and volume lead, coordinating creation and editing of proposal sections, volumes, and content to meet government deadlines. The ability to meet deadlines, manage multiple documents and inputs, a commitment to teamwork, and detailed follow-through will be the key to success in this role.
A qualified candidate will perform the following duties and responsibilities, but are not limited to:
- Create highly compliant and compelling prose for use within BD and proposal documents for delivery to DoD and civilian government agencies.
- Identify and compile the content, documents, and resources necessary to develop the proposal.
- Analyze solicitations (RFP, RFQ, RFI, etc.) in conjunction with other customer requirements and communications and provide input to outlines, content plans, illustrations, and proposal strategies.
- Strong organizational management skills and attention to detail are essential attributes. Must be able to do general editing of written material, writing new material or working with reuse material, proof-reading, and performing quality check of proposals under tight deadline constraints.
- Develop targeted questions and interview technical and program management staff to extract critical information necessary to develop technical and managerial solutions.
- Work with key personnel, SMEs, subcontractors, and other proposal team members to develop draft and final content.
- Support and ensure proposal center processes are followed, standard style guide is used, and documents are submitted in accordance with established guidelines.
- Develop and maintain a repository of “best in breed” proposal material for reuse. Routinely update material to ensure successful efforts are rolled in the company’s proposal in the future.
- Support the capture team and Proposal Operations Manager to lead volumes and submit deliverables according to proposal schedules.
- Utilize MS Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint) to create documents and content for use in proposals and BD materials.
- Acts as a key contributor in the development of critical documents such as: white papers, customer and senior executive briefings, proposals volumes, marketing collateral, sources sought, and RFI responses.
Requirements
Security Clearance Requirement:
Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain/maintain a security clearance is required.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors’ degree in relevant field.
- A minimum of 3-6 years of relevant professional experience writing federal government proposals and marketing documents. This includes experience and knowledge of Government proposal process, terms, and requirements and demonstrated experience writing proposal sections and volumes.
- Ability to define, schedule, and manage multiple proposal preparation processes.
- Demonstrated understanding of industry best practices and standard proposal processes (to include Shipley, APMP, etc.).
