Full Job Description
Aperio Global, LLC is currently seeking a part-time Network Administrator to join our team. In this role, you will play a critical role in the evaluation and enhancement of Fairfax County’s network infrastructure as part of the Aperio Global consulting team. This includes configuring, managing, and optimizing all network components to ensure efficient and secure operations.
Note: This is a part-time position with flexible hours.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the installation, configuration, and maintenance of network hardware including Cisco routers and switches, and VoIP systems.
- Monitor and optimize network performance through proactive management and using network management tools.
- Resolve network issues, coordinate with users to address concerns, and ensure optimal network operation.
- Document network configurations, changes, and operational procedures.
- Liaise with vendors and IT personnel to support network infrastructure needs and upgrades.
- Ensure network security and connectivity, monitor network access, and implement security measures.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or relevant professional experience.
- Extensive experience with Cisco networking technologies, including routers, switches, and VoIP services.
- Proficient in network management and monitoring tools.
- Deep understanding of networking protocols such as IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, 802.11, and QoS.
- Strong problem-solving skills, analytical abilities, and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
