We currently have an exciting opportunity as an Industrial Maintenance Technician. This role is based in our facility in Lynchburg, Virginia and reports to the Maintenance Supervisor.
Job Summary
We are seeking an upbeat individual who will be responsible to ensure the smooth operation of machinery and mechanical equipment! This includes installing new equipment, performing regular services and maintenance procedures, as well as troubleshooting equipment breakdowns.
Principal Responsibilities
- Demonstration of specialized technical knowledge in all fields of hydraulics, pneumatics, electricity, process instrumentation, and theoretical mechanics.
- Understands and applies principles of mechanisms such as gears, motors, and vacuum systems.
- Perform vital repairs, installations, and preventative maintenance to keep facilities operating.
- Identifies and diagnose root cause of equipment problems with little supervision, using all tools available including - reading schematics, OEM manuals and on-line resources.
- Adjust and calibrate equipment to accurate performance levels.
- Collaborate with team members, supervisors and other departments on machinery repairs.
- Must be eager to learn, self-motivated to work independently and have good written and verbal communication skills.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment while adhering to all safety policies and procedures.
- Other duties as the need arises and/or assigned.
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- Electrical and Hydraulic certification a plus
- Demonstrates the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Able to use basic instruments: Voltage meter, amp meter, calipers, and basic tools such as tape rulers, and levels.
- Ability to read, write and comprehend sophisticated instructions, correspondence, and reports.
- Must be willing to attend technical training classes as the need arises.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- High School diploma or equivalent.

- Inspection tools and gauges
Work Environment
- Working on raised surfaces (ladders, machines, work platforms).
- Regular work in a fluctuating temperature environment (indoor & outdoor).
- Exposure to grease, dirt, and some industrial chemicals.
- The use of standard personal protective equipment is used and includes some of the following: safety glasses and splash shield, gloves and apron, safety shoes, harness, Hi-Vis clothing.
- Requires good mobility and involves considerable routine walking, standing for long periods, bending, stooping, and lifting up to a maximum of 80 lbs.
