Full Job Description
ROGERCO, Inc. (ROGERCO) delivers advanced technology, cybersecurity, communications advisory, and multi-media services and is looking for a Lead Communications Professional to join our assessment team with the U.S. Navy. This Washington, DC-based position will provide short- and long-range strategic communication planning and assessment to our client. Candidates should also have an active secret security clearance and previous experience with communications in federal government organizations, specifically DoD. Applicants should live in the greater Washington, DC area with the ability to work on client site in Arlington, VA, as requested by the customer.
Requirements
- Lead communication planning, strategy, and alignment efforts of a headquarters-level government public affairs office.
- Develop and implement methodologies to assess the impact of campaign messaging, with a focus on news and social media analysis.
- Lead and advise client on how proprietary data translates to insights that can be directly applied to the Navy mission and builds/ meets communications objectives.
- Serve as the primary liaison with the client to ensure all contract requirements are met and deliverables are submitted on time with the highest quality standard.
- Serve as the overall ROGERCO team lead and manage a team of three communications strategists. As part of this, you will serve as final reviewer of their work (white papers, research projects, daily, weekly, and monthly assessment reports, annual reports, etc.), mentor team members on how to grow their skillsets, keep up to speed on industry best practices, and conduct performances review meetings.
- Lead recruitment, hiring, and onboarding efforts for team members.
Qualifications
- Managerial and leadership experience, strong organizational skills and rigorous attention to detail. Candidates should be well-versed in managing people, intellectually curious, excellent problem solvers, and can reflect client priorities and interests in work products.
- Bachelor’s Degree recipient in communications, public relations, or marketing. Masters preferred.
- Minimum of 16 years of public affairs, public relations, brand development, communication planning and/or assessment experience, including but not limited to: developing public affairs and/or communication plans based on research and analysis, identifying key audiences, drafting messaging, designing and overseeing implementation of tactics, measuring impacts, providing strategic guidance and counsel, and producing briefings for leadership.
