McColm specializes in supporting U.S. federal customers with foreign affairs and national security portfolios by managing bespoke professional training programs, delivering effective capacity building solutions, and providing highly specialized technical assistance and advisory expertise to decision makers.

McColm is preparing to support projects with the Department of State, Bureau of Political Military Affairs (PM), Global Peacekeeping Operations Initiative (GPOI) in Chad, Tanzania, Togo, Malawi, Uganda, and Zambia to strengthen the effectiveness of the United Nations (UN) and regional peace operations by enhancing partner countries’ capacities to prepare, deploy, and sustain peacekeepers and reinforcing UN and regional organizations’ performance and accountability frameworks. 

These positions are contingent on contract awards.

McColm is seeking In-Country Team Lead candidates for projects in Chad, Tanzania, Togo, Malawi, Uganda, and Zambia. The responsibilities of the Team Lead include, but are not necessarily limited to, the following duties. Successful candidates will be willing to be stationed in-country/OCONUS full time.

  • Serve as primary point of contact for contract execution, coordination, and management in Chad, Tanzania, Togo, Malawi, Uganda, OR Zambia.
  • Serve as primary interface with the U.S. Embassy, military leadership, trainers, and other stakeholders.
  • Supervise all training and mentorship activities occurring in country.
  • Supervise all equipment deliveries, inventories, and handovers in country.
  • Supervise all personnel in country, including ensuring life support.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizen.
  • Minimum of fifteen (15) years of military experience, which includes service after September 11, 2001.
  • Attainment of military grade of CW-3, E9, or O3 and higher.
  • Demonstrated experience as a senior mentor/advisor, military or civilian, to a senior foreign security partner with directly related experience in capacity building and unit-level assessments.
  • Relevant military operations or foreign security force (police or military) capacity building experience in the last 5 years.
  • Regional experience in Sub-Saharan Africa. Preference for candidates with recent experience in one of the listed countries.
