Job Description:

NuvoLogic Consulting is seeking a talented and experienced Government Business Development Director (Gov BD Director) to be a key driver of NuvoLogic’s business growth and success. This role is responsible for identifying, pursuing, and securing government contracts, expanding NuvoLogic's presence in the government sector, and fostering relationships with government agencies and prime contractors. The Gov BD Director plays a pivotal role in developing and executing strategies that align with the company’s goals and objectives. 

Director Duties: 

  • Develop and implement operational strategies that align with the company’s goals and objectives. 
  • Establish and nurture relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials, prime contractors, subcontractors and industry partners. 
  • Create comprehensive plans to penetrate new markets, expand service offerings, and achieve revenue targets. 
  • Contribute to the development of the company’s strategic plan, particularly in areas related to operations and government contracting. 
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the government sector. 
  • Support the CEO in setting long-term goals and driving the company’s growth strategy. 
  • Maintain a competitive edge in the evolving landscape of government contracting. 
  • Attend Conferences and Networking Events and participate in evaluations of government programs. 

Business Development Duties: 

  • Actively monitor government procurement opportunities, including RFPs, RFQs, and other solicitations. 
  • Analyze market trends, agency priorities, and procurement forecasts to identify potential business opportunities. 
  • Position the company favorably for contract awards by building rapport and trust with decision-makers. 
  • Collaborate closely with proposal team to develop competitive and compliant proposals. 
  • Conduct market research and analysis to gather intelligence on competitors, industry trends, and emerging technologies. Use this information to inform business strategies and identify areas for growth. 
  • Negotiate contract terms and conditions in collaboration with legal and procurement teams to ensure favorable contract terms while mitigating risks for the company. 
  • Adhere to strict compliance and ethical standards in all business development activities to ensure that proposals and contract negotiations comply with regulatory requirements and company policies. 
  • Track and analyze business development metrics, such as win rates, pipeline growth, and revenue forecasts. 
  • Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management to assess business performance and inform decision-making. 
  • Engage in continuous learning and professional development to stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices. 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Public Administration, or a related field. 
  • 14+ years of experience in government contracting sector of business development 
  • Proven track record of securing government contracts and managing business development efforts. 
  • Experience with civilian agencies, Treasury, IRS, DOI, USDA, DOT, HHS, CMS, and other government agencies. 

Required Skills 

  • Strong understanding of government procurement processes, regulations, and compliance requirements. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders. 
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on achieving business growth. 
  • Proficiency in market research, data analysis, and the development of business strategies. 
  • Experience with contract negotiation and management. 
  • Ability to take the initiative to just push things forward. 
  • Solid understanding of 8a, HubZone and Small Businesses related to federal procurement, corporate offerings, federal stakeholders, solutions, contract vehicles, influential governmental officials, best practices, and federal security requirements.
