Full Job Description
Electrical Engineer I will contribute to new product development for our microscope systems and components. The position will be working with cross-functional, global team that develops complex imaging hardware with integral software for image acquisition, processing, system control, and calibration.
The position requires a keen understanding of designing, prototyping, and troubleshooting electronic circuits and systems The position will assist in bringing new products from prototype to production, with an emphasis on robust and manufacturable designs in a lean manufacturing facility. The job includes occasional participation in detailed technical discussions with customers, sales and field service members.
Essential Job Functions include the following, but are not limited to:
- Design and develop electronics for precision scientific instruments and peripherals
- Take a design from an initial concept through prototyping, debugging, and manufacturing phases
- Manage project timeline and costs
- Manage electronic component vendors and contract manufacturers
- Troubleshoot and resolve electronics related system issues
- Provide circuit simulations when required
- Manage electronics engineering documentation and material specifications
- Develop test plans and fixtures for manufacturing
- Assist and or troubleshoot our production team when problems arise
In addition to the essential functions and duties listed above, all positions are also responsible for:
- Meeting company standards pertaining to quantity and quality of work performed on an ongoing basis, performing all work-related tasks in a manner that is in compliance with all Company policies and procedures.
- Adhering to Company policies, procedures, and directives regarding standards of workplace behavior in completing job duties and assignments.

Physical Activities:
This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand, as necessary.
Requirements
Qualifications
- 1-4 years’ experience with electronics design for motion control, scientific, biotech, medical, or semiconductor instrumentation
Education:
- BS Degree in Electrical Engineering
Specialized Knowledge and Skills:
- Skilled in schematic capture and PCB layout in Altium Designer
- Skilled in impedance controlled PBC routing.
- Skilled in analog/digital low noise design, simulation, and implementation
- Ability to troubleshooting and resolving electronic issues in instruments
- Familiarity with design and implementation of optoelectronic circuits and control systems
- Strong communication skills and presentation skills
- Strong ability to take initiative
- Flexibility/adaptability in a fast-paced & dynamic environment
