Full Job Description

The Director of Programs at Shenandoah Community Capital Fund is a pivotal leadership role responsible for overseeing all programmatic activities, initiatives, and partnerships. This position requires a passionate and experienced individual who can drive the organization's mission forward by developing, implementing, and managing programs that have a lasting impact on the Shenandoah Valley community. The Director of Programs will report directly to the Executive Director and collaborate closely with other team members to achieve SCCF's goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program Development: Develop, implement, assess, adjust, and manage SCCF's program portfolio, ensuring alignment with the organization's mission and strategic objectives.

  • Strategic Planning: Work with the leadership team to set programmatic goals, develop strategies, and create action plans for achieving desired outcomes.

  • Community Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with local businesses, community leaders, non-profit organizations, and other stakeholders to identify program opportunities and partnerships 

  • Program Evaluation: Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to assess program impact and effectiveness. Use data-driven insights to continuously improve program curriculum, timing, and outcomes.

  • Budget Management: Manage program budgets efficiently, allocate resources effectively, and ensure responsible fiscal stewardship. This may also include sponsorship development for specific programs. 

  • Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor program staff, providing guidance and support to ensure program success.

  • Reporting: Generate regular reports on program activities, outcomes, and progress towards goals, presenting findings to the leadership team and stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Master's degree preferred).
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in program management, community development, or a related field.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Grant management experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of the Shenandoah Valley region and a commitment to community development.
  • A passion for SCCF's mission and a strong desire to make a positive impact on the local community.
  • Attendance at or hosting after-hour events such as networking or community building events will be required (1-3 a month, before and after traditional work hours)
  • Travel within the Shenandoah Valley for meetings and events will also be required on an as needed basis
  • Preference will be given to applicants who reside in the Shenandoah Valley

Benefits

Salary commensurate to qualifications: $60K-$70K per year. SCCF offers an unlimited vacation policy, a remote-first hybrid work structure, and provides medical, short-term, long-term, and life insurance. 

Additionally, SCCF functions on a hybrid, 4-day (32 hour) work-week.
