The Digital Content and Communications Specialist position sits within the M/OAA Communications team, which is also designated as the Agency’s Industry Liaison. The Industry Liaison offers an open door to organizations that want to connect with the Agency. The team manages the WorkwithUSAID.gov platform and a variety of different social media handles.. The individual will split time between general communications activities (40%) and helping to manage the unsolicited proposal/application portal on WorkwithUSAID.gov (60%).
The duties shall include, but not be limited to:
- Managing the unsolicited proposals and application portal on WorkwithUSAID.gov
- Assist with the management of WorkwithUSAID.gov information, such as partner directory profiles.
- Assisting in drafting and editing written materials, including talking points, blogs, and other materials for internal and external stakeholders.
- Tracking, and/or coordinating M/OAA communications, such as official reports and audits, Congressional inquiries, and media requests.
- Researching, developing, and coordinating social media across the Work with USAID social media channels.
- Supporting the development and execution of the Industry Liaison Communications and Engagement Strategy.
- Drafting and coordinating content for a weekly internal newsletter.
- Attending meetings, preparing meeting minutes, and briefing the Industry Liaison on M/OAA-related meetings.
- Performing other duties as assigned by the M/OAA Communication Director or by the Director of M/OAA including special projects as needed
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with at least one year of professional, relevant work experience
- Possesses or is eligible to receive a Facilities Access Clearance
- Strong proofreading and editing capabilities.
- Knowledge of proper grammar and punctuation, formal report, and speech writing techniques.
- Ability to synthesize documents and understand the key areas of information
- Strong interpersonal communications abilities.
- Understanding of social networking tools.
- Ability to analyze situations to define issues and draw conclusions.
- Ability to meet deadlines, set priorities and work independently.
- Use of graphic design tools (like Canva, Adobe tools) is highly desirable
