We are currently seeking to add a Data Scientist to join our team.
· Contractor shall ensure the development, deployment, implementation, operation, and support of Sponsor technical information systems and projects complies with security policies and procedures.
· Contractor will be required to communicate and collaborate across organizational boundaries, to include other contractor teams. The Contractor shall be required to work with Sponsor staff and contractor personnel, as well as external stakeholders
· Engage with customers to determine the nature of requirement/analytic problem, evaluate options, and offer Information Technology (IT)-based recommendations/options
· Advise customers on IT methods and data needed and/or available to satisfy the requirement
· Develop IT solutions to enable the exploitation of databases and files; devise creative data collection and strategies
· Develop comprehensive software applications
· Identify potential additional data sources and automate collection processes
· Integrate, analyze, evaluate, and assess quantitative data (using statistical software, computer models, geospatial models, software languages, mathematical models, machine learning) to contribute to or develop
· IT solutions to requirements (software tools, analytic models, or reports.)
· Conduct statistical, mathematical, geospatial modeling or data-mining analysis in partnership with other colleagues
· Anticipate and project a wide range of possible outcomes using scenario/alternative analyses, machine learning, and agent based modeling or other advanced analytic techniques
· Identify, use, and/or develop a wide range of methodologies and analytic tools to address existing or potential problems and collection strategies
· Prepare, and communicate a wide range of strategic, highly complex graphics, computational models/tools, or written/oral assessments
· Leverage multiple data management tools to organize relevant information and make decisions

Demonstrated experience with deploying and developing cloud-based systems from the ground up using CloudFormation and Cloud Development Kit (CDK) with services including:
· Elastic Map Reduce (EMR)
· Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2)

· Application Load Balancer (ALB)
· Simple Storage Service (S3)
· Route53
· Relational Database Service (RDS)
· Identity Access Management (IAM)

· Demonstrated experience with deploying and developing Spark Streaming
· Demonstrated experience deploying Dockerized Python micro services with FastAPI.
· Demonstrated experience developing and deploying machine learning algorithms with Scikit-Learn, SciPy and MUKH.
· Demonstrated experience deploying Docker containers for staged applications.
· Demonstrated experience using Git and Gitlab.
· Demonstrated experience collecting and managing requirements from users in a formal and ad hoc manner.
· Bachelor’s Degree and 4 years’ experience in Computer Science or related field
Travel
· Local travel in the DC Metro area may be required.
Job Requirements
· Active TS/SCI + Full Scope Poly U.S. Government Security is required
· Bachelor’s degree required, in Computer Science or related field
· 5+ (five) years of relevant professional work experience
· Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality
· Strong interpersonal skills, especially the ability to network and establish professional relationships
· Ability to prioritize, demonstrated strong organizational skills, and ability to meet or exceed deadlines
Physical Demands: Position will require frequent sitting, standing, and/or mobility within an office setting. Employee must be able to use hands to complete work at a workstation/computer, be able to reach, type and manipulate with hands, fingers, and arms; lift and/or move up to 20 pounds; talk, see and hear.
Work Environment: Work is performed on client site in a professional office environment with moderate stress and noise levels. Position requires employee to effectively use a computer, potentially for long periods of time, and to accommodate potentially frequent interruptions. Candidate should be both customer-focused and present a team approach to overall work.
Schedule: Business core hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. ET. Standard work hours may vary for this position based upon contract requirements. Position will be located onsite at a customer facility in Northern, VA/DC Metro area.
