We are looking for a dynamic Congressional and Legislative Analyst to join our team in supporting Congressional and Legislation efforts for our client the Resource & Program Integration (PRI) Directorate, within the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness (OUSD P&R).

This position will report to a CATHEXIS task lead who will assist them with their transition into their day-to-day responsibility of supporting our client in RPI. They will join a larger CATHEXIS team that support other OUSD (P&R) offices.

The Business Analyst will provide administrative, analytical, process management, and cross-functional support to senior-level decision-makers in OUSD (P&R). They will regularly collaborate and coordinate with stakeholders within the Department of Defense (DoD) and with other government agencies to manage cross-cutting tasks.

The work location of this position is at the Pentagon.

Responsibilities: 

  • Coordinate and track OUSD (P&R) statutorily required Congressional Reporting and Briefing Requirements within the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), Congressional Committee Reports, and other legislation to ensure statutory compliance
  • Support OUSD (P&R)’s Congressional and Legislation management efforts to include compiling Secretary of Defense, Deputy Secretary of Defense, and OUSD (P&R) hearing prep, questions & answers, and Questions/Inserts for the Record to their completion
  • Coordinate, track, and submit OUSD (P&R) comments on legislation, Defense authorizations and appropriations appeals, and interagency coordination (“Green sheet”)
  • Support the management of OUSD (P&R) legislative proposals through internal and external review and coordination processes; track OUSD (P&R) and Services legislative proposals through the DoD Legislative Review Process; ensure OUSD (P&R) comments and positions are well represented through all the coordination processes
  • Provide administrative and analytic support on other variety of projects and taskers relating to OUSD(P&R)’s Congressional and legislative efforts

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Three (3) years of Legislative experience
  • Active Secret Clearance

Skills:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and writing and editing skills. Ability to multitask, track multiple deadlines, adapt to shifting priorities, and interact with senior leadership
  • Previous Admin and process management experience
  • Previous experience using task management tools
  • Experience with Excel
  • Previous experience supporting the Federal Government or DoD

 CATHEXIS offers competitive compensation packages to all eligible employees. Our goal is to provide a average market rates, and promotes your financial security and personal well-being. The annual salary range for this role is $75,000 - $110,000. Please note that the salary information provided is a general guideline. CATHEXIS considers various factors in its final offer, including location, qualifications, experience, and skills.
