As a Certified Medication Aide on our team, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring our patients receive the right medications at the right time, with a caring touch. This position requires a perfect blend of technical expertise, attention to detail, and genuine compassion for those in your care.
Responsibilities:
- Administer medications to patients with care and precision, following prescribed orders
- Observe and report any changes in patients' conditions or medication reactions
- Maintain accurate and detailed medication administration records
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members about medications and care
- Assist in monitoring medication inventory
- Provide compassionate support to patients during medication administration
- Ensure compliance with medication safety protocols and regulations
- Participate in care planning meetings, offering insights on medication-related matters
- Assist with patient education regarding medications, demonstrating empathy and patience
- Collaborate closely with nurses and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care
Requirements
- Current Certified Medication Aide license in good standing
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 1 year experience as a CMA, preferably in a similar healthcare setting
- Strong knowledge of medication administration techniques and safety protocols
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication abilities
- Genuine compassion and patience when interacting with patients
- Proficiency in electronic health record systems
- A warm, caring approach that puts patients at ease during medication administration
- Meticulous attention to detail in all aspects of medication management
- Strong interpersonal skills, allowing for effective communication with individuals
- Ability to remain calm and composed in fast-paced or stressful situations
- Commitment to ongoing learning about medications and best practices in patient care
