Associate, Due Diligence

The Associate, Due Diligence is an integral role within the Due Diligence team and the Firm. In addition to the duties listed below, there is the real and ongoing potential for collaborative opportunities within the Firm.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist Compliance Manager with sponsor/issuer and offering due diligence for alternative investment products, including but not limited to:
- Analyze and objectively review offering documents
- Independently verify material facts presented in Offering Memoranda and Offering Circulars
- Validate pro forma model financial projections using industry data analysis tools
- Perform real estate market and comparable analysis modeling
- Evaluate offering merits and assess probability of favorable outcome
- Create summary findings reports to be presented internally and maintained on the Firm’s books and records
- Initiating document requests and inquiries related to sponsors and their offerings
- Organization and contribution to the diligence process for assigned sponsors and offerings
- Ensure comprehensive documentation of due diligence efforts and findings for the Firm’s books and records
- Expected to attain proficient understanding of the regulatory requirements for syndicated real estate capital formation; including but not limited to SEC Regulation D and A exemptions, SEC 40 Act funds, nt-REITs, BDCs and other alternative capital raising structures
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Demonstrated values of integrity, honesty, and discretion when working with sensitive information
- Critical reading comprehension skill applied to outside, independent market and demographic research, utilizing online search tools and third-party applications
- Proactive and process driven
- Professional communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Keen attention to detail
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree; preferred emphasis on Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Commercial Real Estate
- Acquire FINRA SIE and FINRA Series 7 licensure within 6 months of start date
