Navarro Research and Engineering, Inc. is recruiting for an Administrative Assistant Fort Belvoir, VA.

This position will support the Defense Acquisition University at Ft. Belvoir. The Defense Systems Management College (DSMC) requires project management and administrative support for the delivery of the Operational and Academic Schedule.
Project Support:
- Works with course managers, program directors, course liaisons, faculty, students and administrative staff to provide administrative functions listed below in support of courses, lessons, symposia, and workshops.
- Collects and maintains student demographic, feedback, and historical data, per class supported and prepares and updates rosters, statistical reports, and graphic presentations for faculty and leadership upon request. Formats and manipulates data into logical, user friendly products using Microsoft suite tools.
- Facilitates communication with students via e mail and the BlackBoard learning management system. Manages and loads most current course and administrative documents into the BlackBoard/ATLAS system or CSOD (DAU student information delivery systems) for dissemination. Prepares student automated welcome messages to include registration and instructions for on line prerequisites, collection of student demographics, travel and lodging information, attire requirements, post/base access and parking, scheduling information, as well as instructional program links to DAU Home page and other useful student/course information.
- Prepares learning spaces by arranging computer/audio/visual requirements, supplies and materials, coordinates physical space layout, ensuring a professional appearance is maintained.
- Works with faculty and staff to ensure learning materials are properly prepared, available and distributed according to the schedule/agenda provided. Ensures commercial products are available in sufficient numbers, DSMC generated are printed or loaded into BlackBoard and DAU publications are properly stored and available electronically.
- Supports faculty and students by providing ad hoc assistance and instruction with audio visual and computer equipment, and log-on procedures for IT systems.
- Conducts end of course administrative close out to include processing travel orders, organizing academic reports, preparing diplomas, transcripts, and rosters, ordering end of course CDs, and learning space clean up.
Administrative Support:
- Receives phone calls and visitors daily.
- Retrieves and distributes mail and office supplies delivering each to appropriate office.
- Schedules meetings, conferences, and training events upon request by faculty and students.
- Maintains daily and weekly calendars, daily office schedules and participates in budget and information management activities upon request of course manager.
- Collects, compiles, formulates, and disseminates pertinent data related to course schedule, course execution and class demographics. Assist with the development of annual projections of teaching assignments for faculty.
- Prepares and consolidates reports, Standard Operating Procedures, correspondence, e-mail, and graphic presentations of feedback and data upon course manager and faculty request.
- Performs clerical and statistical data entry as needed.
- Works with automated application programs to include Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and Internet Explorer as well as other DoD/DAU software packages such as Defense Travel System (DTS), Cornerstone on Demand (CSOD), DataMart and Qlik.
Requirements
- Associates degree. Bachelor’s degree desired.
- Minimum of 5 years of Administrative Support experience.
- Department of Defense related experience.
- Experience in an educational setting desired.
- Due to the nature of the government contract requirements and/or clearances requirements, US citizenship is required.
