Full Job Description

The Research Technician to join our Behavioral Genetics Lab will assist in conducting research aimed at understanding the genetic and neural bases of behavior using mouse models. 

This is a full time, benefits eligible, salaried position with a starting range of $36,000 per year. This is a term position lasting two years and ideal for recent Middlebury College or other graduates.

Core Responsibilities:

The Research Technician will be responsible for  

  • supporting daily lab operations,  
  • conducting behavioral experiments,  
  • performing DNA/RNA extractions,  
  • data collection and analysis,  
  • and assistance with other projects as needed.  

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in neuroscience, genetics, behavioral science or related field 
  • Experience with animal handling, rodent behavioral assays, tissue/blood collection, and other wet lab skills is ideal but opportunities for training are also available. 
  • Reliable, responsible and detail oriented. 
  • Ability to work some weekends is a requirement. 

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards.
