Physical Therapist Assistant

Requirements

• Associate's degree or diploma from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
• Licensure or certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant
• Prior experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant preferred
• Proficiency in physical therapy techniques, assessments, and interventions
• Assist with evaluations and contribute to treatment plan development
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment
• Compassion and empathy towards patients
• Familiarity with electronic medical records systems
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Responsibilities

• Assist Physical Therapists in conducting evaluations and assessments of patients' physical abilities and needs
• Implement prescribed components of treatment plans under the guidance of a Physical Therapist
• Administer therapeutic exercises and techniques to enhance patients' mobility, strength, and functional abilities
• Assist patients in utilizing specialized equipment and modalities for rehabilitation
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to deliver comprehensive patient care
• Monitor and document patient progress, promptly reporting any changes to the supervising Physical Therapist
• Educate patients and their families on strategies for at-home care
• Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient records
• Follow infection control protocols and maintain a clean and safe environment
