About this Position

Gravel & Shea is seeking an HR Manager to join our team. This pivotal role will be instrumental in fostering a cohesive organizational culture and supporting the firm’s successes. Reporting to the Director of Finance and Operations, you will serve as a strategic partner to firm leadership, advising on critical areas like succession planning. You will oversee all aspects of day-to-day HR operations, from onboarding and benefits administration to employee relations and performance reviews. Responsibilities

  • Foster a cohesive organizational culture and uphold firm values through strategic HR initiatives.
  • Partner with firm leadership on critical areas such as succession planning and talent management.
  • Manage all aspects of day-to-day HR operations, including recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration through a 3rd party provider, employee relations, training & development and performance reviews.
  • Develop and implement HR policies and procedures that comply with legal requirements and enhance employee engagement.
  • Collaborate with department heads to address staffing needs and ensure alignment with business goals.
  • Oversee payroll administration, including administering payroll, reviewing timecards, and maintaining accurate employee records.
  • Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on HR-related matters.
  • Drive initiatives to promote employee development, career growth, and retention.
  • Stay updated on HR trends and best practices to continuously improve HR operations. 

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a professional services environment.
  • SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred.
  • Proven experience in strategic HR management, including succession planning and organizational development.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Proficiency in HRIS, payroll systems, and MS Office Suite.
  • Experience administering employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and leave policies.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership and decision-making abilities.
