Position Overview

The HR Coordinator at Folino’s Pizza will play a vital role in supporting our team and growing business by managing key HR functions and partnering with leaders to help them build and grow strong, effective teams. This position focuses on recruiting, compliance, benefits administration, employee relations, and administrative tasks, with the opportunity to jump into the action and help make pizzas too! The ideal candidate is a people-oriented multitasker who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is excited to wear many hats.

Key Responsibilities

Recruiting

  • Develop and implement recruiting strategies to attract talent for all positions including marketing, events etc.
  • Manage job postings, screen applicants, and coordinate interviews.
  • Support onboarding and training programs for new employees to ensure a seamless transition into the team.

Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws, including recordkeeping, payroll practices, and workplace policies.
  • Maintain employee records and assist with audits as needed.
  • Keep up to date on industry and legal HR trends to proactively address compliance needs.

Employee Relations

  • Serve as the first point of contact for employee questions and concerns.
  • Mediate conflicts and support resolution processes in line with company values.
  • Foster a positive work environment through regular check-ins and employee engagement initiatives.

Benefits, Leave & Payroll

  • Serve as the main contact for benefits-related questions and provide education to the team about available benefits.
  • Administer and track leave programs, including FMLA, workers' compensation, and other employee leave requests, ensuring compliance with all policies.
  • Maintain accurate records for all benefits and leave requests, and work with managers to coordinate coverage during employee absences.
  • Collect and organize payroll information, including timekeeping records, employee changes, and other relevant data, to ensure accurate and timely processing by the bookkeeper.

Performance Reviews

  • Oversee the performance review process, ensuring evaluations are completed in a timely manner and in alignment with company goals.
  • Provide guidance to managers on conducting reviews and setting employee development goals.
  • Work with managers to provide growth opportunities and mentorship for employees.

Administrative Tasks

  • Create and distribute internal communications, policies, and updates.
  • Support with other administrative tasks as needed.

Operations Support

  • Assist in pizza-making and other restaurant tasks during peak times to support the team and understand operations firsthand.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Associate Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience) preferred.
  • 2-5 years of HR experience, preferably in the food service or hospitality industry preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of HR best practices.
  • Commitment to and enthusiasm for supporting Folino’s vision and mission.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a proactive approach
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a dynamic environment.
  • A team-oriented attitude with a willingness to help wherever needed
  • Able to work independently and self-direct responsibilities and tasks when needed
