Full Job Description

The Snow Bowl General Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing all operational aspects to ensure exceptional guest experiences, efficient business operations, and the safety of patrons and staff. This role requires a dynamic individual with strong leadership skills, business acumen, and a passion for the ski industry.


This is a full time, benefits eligible, salaried position with a hiring range of $85,295 - $108,810 per year.


Core Responsibilities:

  • Manage all departments, including ski operations, guest services, retail operations, food and beverage, maintenance, and administration.
  • Develop, implement, and oversee operational policies and procedures to enhance efficiency, safety, and guest satisfaction.
  • Manage budgeting, financial forecasting, and revenue generation efforts to achieve profitability goals.
  • Oversee, manage, and support recruitment, training, and development initiatives for staff members to ensure a high-performing team.
  • Oversee marketing and promotional activities to drive ticket sales, season pass purchases, and ancillary revenue streams.
  • Maintain relationships with stakeholders, including local communities, government agencies, suppliers, and industry partners.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and guest feedback to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, safety standards, and environmental sustainability practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, hospitality management, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in ski resort management or similar role; mountain operations experience preferred
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team
  • Excellent financial management abilities including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
  • Demonstrated experience in marketing, sales, and customer service
  • Knowledge of ski resort operations including lift operations, snowmaking, grooming, and terrain management
  • Familiarity with relevant safety regulations, risk management practices, and emergency procedures
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and physically demanding outdoor environment, including exposure to cold temperatures, snow, ice, and inclement weather conditions.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, and move around on uneven terrain for extended periods.
  • Occasional travel may be required to attend industry conferences, meetings, or off-site events.
  • Flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and evenings, to accommodate the needs of the operation and special events.
  • Office work may involve prolonged periods of sitting, computer use, and administrative tasks.
