Full Job Description

Aspire Medical Staffing is looking for a skilled Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist (DRT) to join our team at the White River Junction VA Medical Center. The ideal candidate will be committed to providing high-quality radiologic services to enhance patient diagnosis and treatment.

6 months assignment

Location: White River Junction VA Medical Center (WRJ VAMC) at 215 N. Main Street, White River Junction, VT 05009.

Hours:

Week 1: Sunday 2400-0800, Thursday 2000-2400, Friday 2400-0700; 2000-2400, Saturday 2400-0800; 2000-2400

Week 2: Sunday 2400-0800, Wednesday 2000-2400; Thursday 2400-0600; 2000-2400, Friday 2400-0700; 2000-2400, Saturday 2400-0800; 2000-2400

Job Duties:

  • Overseeing the day-to-day safe operation of the CT and/or Angio environment..
  • Prepares contrast materials under the direction of the radiologist for the purpose of performing exams requiring injectable or consumable solutions such as UGI’s, BE’s, Small Bowel, Modified Barium Swallows, Venograms, Cystograms, Cholangiograms, Fistulagrams, Arthrography, etc. Improper use or administration of the contrast materials run the risk of patient mortality and, therefore, it is essential that a thorough understanding of the contrast material usage is possessed by those who prepare it. In addition, the technologist must be continuously on the alert to the patient's condition and other disorders. Reactions on the part of the patient require immediate attention so that harm does not come to the patient.
  • Records all doses of radiation for fluoroscopy and portable fluoroscopy exams in the technologist comment section in Vista and/or by generating and sending the dose summary report from the fluoroscopy equipment.
  • Technologist receives and interprets all radiology requests for accuracy, appropriateness; date desired and maintains a thorough knowledge of the ordering process in CPRS.
  • Thoroughly reviews the radiology order screening information for accuracy, noting and researching all questionable information prior to contacting the patient or performing the exam. Inputs pertinent information into the designated computer systems and has knowledge to register, complete, cancel and edit exams.
  • Performs and completes imaging studies within the established guidelines for stat, preop, urgent and routine exams.
  • Participate in quality control measures to ensure the highest standards of imaging services.

Requirements

Qualifications:

● Degree/Education: at minimum, anAssociate's Degree in Radiologic Technology from an accredited institution.

● Certification: Current registration as a Radiologic Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) as well as Computed Tomography (CT) certification.

● Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience in a clinical setting as a Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist and understanding of advanced DRT/CT applications.

● Skills: Proficient in operating radiologic equipment, excellent communication skills, and strong attention to detail. Technologists must have knowledge of anatomy and physiology including location, appearance, and functioning of the major and minor systems susceptible to radiographic illumination and knowledge of changes to systems and organs caused by common medical and surgical diseases.

● U.S. Citizenship: Shall be U.S. citizens.
