Anticipated Hiring Salary: $100,000 - $125,000 depending on experience

Position Overview:

This is a great opportunity to build and develop a strong accounting team while also putting effective accounting processes in place.  The CFO/Owner is eager to collaborate with a Controller to take the accounting department to the next level.  This position will have hands-on involvement with day-to-day accounting.  In addition, the Controller will work collaboratively with the CFO/Owner to ensure the financial statements are accurate and complete.  Ideal candidates must have strong accounting skills while also being able to thrive in a highly collaborative and team-oriented environment.

 

Essential Job Duties:

  • Ensure day-to-day accounting is entered correctly and that AP and AR are kept up to date.
  • Complete month and year end closings and post necessary journal entries. 
  • Perform bank, credit card, and cash reconciliations. 
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements that are timely, accurate, and in accordance with GAAP. 
  • Create and maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures and implement a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk.
  • Analyze financial data and make recommendations to the CFO.
  • Build and develop a strong accounting team to meet the needs of the organization.
  • Develop and implement effective and efficient accounting processes.
  • Prepare and submit monthly sales tax forms.
  • Collaborate with the CFO and other leaders to prepare budgets and forecasts. Work closely with the CFO to monitor budgets and forecasts for variances.
  • Calculate weekly sales to pay out any commissions and/or bonuses.
  • Work closely with purchasing and shipping to create effective procedures.
  • Oversee payroll to make sure everything is completed correctly.
  • Organize and collect vendor W-9s.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Prior experience in a controller role or similar.
  • Manufacturing experience is preferred.
  • Ability and desire to work collaboratively onsite five days per week.
  • Deep understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and internal control practices.
  • Experience with QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise for Manufacturing is a plus. 
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to work collaboratively across various teams and departments.
