Full Job Description
The Renewable Energy Analyst work closely with management, customers, and third party govern agencies to effectively service a diversified portfolio of assets with robust covenants and reporting requirements, and to portfolio to develop and implement strategies for these loans. This will include monthly, quarterly, and annual analysis of specified data sets as well as proactively engaging with all parties to monitor and report on the quality of the assets, their day-to-day performance, budgets, and ongoing viability.
Analysts are responsible for collecting and analyzing financial data, completing financial spread analysis, testing financial covenants, and completing loan reviews, renewals, and modifications under the direction of management and applicable committees. To be successful they must anticipate customer needs, analyze, and proactively respond to account trends. Finally, they are expected to gain a sound understanding of their clients’ business to facilitate meaningful feedback.
Essential Job Functions
- Acts as the primary point of a contact for the client and as a liaison to internal teams (such as underwriting, credit, closing, construction, operations, and others).
- Applies sound judgment, innovation, and appropriate creativity in management of client relationships.
- Responsible for building and maintaining a rapport with customer to ensure proper management of the account.
- Works with loan operations to ensure the proper booking of all facilities on the loan system.
- Spreads financial statements and calculates certain ratios including measures of liquidity, leverage, and cash flow.
- Tests financial covenants and addresses out of compliance situations timely and within the parameters of the Bank’s credit policies and procedures.
- Proactively look for ways to improve our processes and make suggestions when you identify those opportunities.
- Monitor and ensure that client Credit Files remain up to date. This will include creating client credit files, setting up reporting and covenant ticklers, and assisting with various reporting requirements.
- May make presentations in various department meetings on specific loans recommending appropriate action or structure of credits.
- Develops knowledge of USDA regulations and procedures for all programs under the OneRD Initiative with an emphasis on the REAP and B&I programs.
- Effectively communicates across multiple channels both internally and externally with clients, third party vendors, USDA representatives, etc. to facilitate the USDA application and approval process.
- Conducts monthly, quarterly, and annual analysis of projects including production, financials, and loan covenants. Prepare and maintain accurate record keeping of the same and escalate items of concern to management.
- Ability to maintain a great attitude and professional disposition with both internal and external parties, especially while handling deadlines, delays, and setbacks.

Requirements

- Strong interest in solar industry and structured finance across different states.
- Strong knowledge of commercial banking credit policies and procedures, credit/financial statement analysis, loan structuring and cash flow analysis.
- Advanced working knowledge of accounting principles, analytical interpretation of balance sheet and income statement analysis and cash flow.
- Professional experience with project finance preferred.

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. - Work Model: The employee in this position will work either a fully Onsite or Hybrid work model. All employees, regardless of location, may be required to travel to the Salt Lake City office for mandatory company meetings, events, or related occasions.
- Utah-based employees: Hybrid work schedule available after initial training period in our Salt Lake City, Utah office – department and job requirements will determine eligibility.
