The Road Home was founded in 1923 and has been a leader in the endeavor to end homelessness for over 100 years. We provide low-barrier emergency shelters, supportive services, and housing-first-minded rental assistance that helps individuals and families step out of homelessness and back into the community. JOB SUMMARY
The Crisis Clinician will provide clinical behavioral health services to individuals experiencing homelessness who are staying at the Gail Miller Resource Center and Pamela Atkinson Resource. The Behavioral Health Specialist will work as part of the collaborative interdisciplinary team to provide direct behavioral health services to a mixed population, including assessments and crisis intervention, and will assist individuals in addressing behavioral health concerns with the aim of achieving stability in housing, becoming more self-sufficient and improving quality of life. In this position a L.C.S.W. or equivalent is preferred, but will provide supervision for a C.S.W. working on licensure.

Crisis Intervention
You Will:
- Provide comprehensive behavioral health services to individuals experiencing homelessness, focusing specifically on identifying and supporting solutions to housing barriers.
- Assist with crisis intervention, de-escalation, and other crisis-driven services as needed, including assisting with debriefing conversations with other employees and clients when relevant.
- Keep records, therapy notes, and statistical data as required and participate in research and/or special projects as needed.
- Assess clients’ barriers to self-sufficiency and develop problem-solving skills with the client.
- Assist clients in developing goals that will help them overcome homelessness and stabilize in the community.
- Form relationships with individuals dealing with mental health and substance use disorders, provide psychotherapy and participate in a variety of advocacy and case management duties
- Maintain a caseload of highly vulnerable guests, identified through a variety of factors that are regularly assessed.
- Assess urgent and high-risk clinical situations and make appropriate interventions.
- Assess the need of therapeutic groups and implement as needed.
Team Collaboration
You Will:
- Collaborate with members of the Case Management and housing team.
- Manage partnerships with community behavioral health providers.
- Attend weekly staff/staffing meetings and other meetings as assigned.
- Work with community partners to coordinate long-term services for guests once they move into permanent housing.
- Assist in providing coaching opportunities and increasing awareness of mental and behavioral health barriers with other teams.
- May join other team members to see patients in the hospital, visit them while incarcerated, and search for them in the community when needed.

Requirements
Education and Experience
- Master's Degree graduate in a mental health discipline from an accredited university.
- L.C.S.W. or equivalent preferred, but will provide supervision for a C.S.W. working on licensure.
- Advanced knowledge and experience in the mental health/substance use treatment field.
- Experience with individuals experiencing homelessness preferred.
Physical and Equipment Requirements
- Ability to lift 15 pounds
- Ability to sit, stand and walk for at least an hour at a time
- Must have a valid driver’s license and ability to drive a vehicle
