About Your Role
McCullough Law is seeking a full-time, career-minded Legal Copy Editor to join our growing company. This specialized role is responsible for reviewing, fact-checking, and finalizing legal documents within the practice areas of estate planning, business, and estate administration.
Responsibilities
- Provide a detailed review of complex legal documents, supporting documents, asset transfer documents, entity documents, and required forms for accuracy, clarity, and completeness
- Proofread and edit the copy and content of legal documents to ensure correctness of dates, information, spelling, and grammar
- Ensure the end product captures the clients’ overall goals and objectives while accomplishing the recommendations of the attorney including federal, state, and tax law
- Print and prepare legal documents for signatures
- Support and provide directional leadership to legal drafters to allow for maximum job satisfaction and performance
- Develop, improve, and enforce documentation standards, processes, and procedures to ensure written documents comply with our guidelines
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of professional experience in the writing, editing, legal, finance, or business field
- Must have professional appearance and demeanor
- Excellent critical thinking, problem solving, and analytical skills
- Impeccable attention to detail
- Effective time management and organization to meet and exceed deadlines
- Proven ability to work independently and collaborate with a team, maintain strict confidentiality, and implement coaching, training, and feedback
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiar with different estate planning documents (i.e., will, health care directive, power of attorney, trusts, etc.)
- Knowledge of real estate, financial investments and bank accounts, private equity, life insurance policies, asset appraisal, and/or business structures and creation
- Leadership experience

- Pay range is $48,000 – $65,000+ DOE
