The Role

We’re looking for someone who can go beyond coding to enhance and expand a scalable, high-performance application capable of handling complex integrations and extensive API functionality. This role demands a deep understanding of modern system architecture, the ability to create secure and efficient APIs, and the foresight to develop a platform that is both flexible and future-proof. You’ll take ownership of the existing progress, collaborating with and mentoring others already working on the project to refine and build upon the current foundation. Your role will ensure seamless interactions between internal systems and external platforms while fostering a culture of innovation, comradery and technical excellence within the team.

This is a salaried position plus equity.

What You’ll Do

• Build Quickly and Efficiently: Architect, implement, and refine scalable systems and user interfaces using Next.js, React.js, and Node.js, ensuring speed and agility in delivering key milestones.
• API Integration: Develop and maintain integrations with external platforms, designing APIs that are secure, efficient, and a pleasure for other developers to use, while ensuring seamless connectivity and data flow.
• AI Implementation: Integrate cutting-edge AI/ML tools to meet the aims and scope of the product.
• Internal Tools Development: Design and implement internal systems and tools to support operational efficiency and enable other teams to perform at their best.
• Team Leadership: Collaborate with cross-functional teams and mentor junior developers, fostering a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and continuous learning.
• Ensure Scalability and Security: Build systems that are resilient, secure, and scalable to meet the needs of a growing user base and evolving market demands.
• Innovate: Stay at the forefront of industry trends and bring forward innovative ideas, technologies, and solutions that push the boundaries of what’s possible.
• Collaborate Across Functions: Partner with leadership, product managers, and other stakeholders to align technical execution with broader strategic goals, ensuring the platform delivers maximum impact.
• Refine and Expand Existing Work: Build on the foundation already in place, ensuring the continued development of robust and efficient systems while driving the project toward completion.

Requirements

Must-Have Skills

• Full-Stack Expertise: 5+ years of hands-on experience with Next.js, React.js, and Node.js, with a deep understanding of modern web application development. You love to code, and can cook.
• AI Knowledge: Familiarity with AI/ML frameworks like OpenAI APIs, TensorFlow, or PyTorch, and a solid understanding of how to leverage these tools to build intelligent features. You understand AI Agents, and can build and command them with ease ("Jobs done, ready to work!")
• API Integration: Proven ability to design, build, and integrate third-party APIs with a focus on security, efficiency, and maintainability.
• Cloud Platforms: Proficiency with AWS, Vercel, or similar cloud services for deployment, scaling, and managing serverless architectures.
• Scalable Architecture: Experience designing systems that can handle growing user demands, emphasizing performance, reliability, and adaptability.
• Problem-Solving: A proven track record of tackling complex challenges, debugging issues under tight deadlines, and delivering elegant, efficient solutions that solve real-world problems.
• Collaboration and Leadership: Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, mentor junior developers, and foster a positive and productive technical environment.
• Database Proficiency: Experience with graph databases (e.g., Neo4j) and PostgreSQL, including optimization and query design.
• SaaS Development: Familiarity with developing B2B SaaS platforms, particularly in environments requiring high scalability and robust integrations.
• Internal Tools Creation: A background in building tools and systems to streamline internal operations, enabling greater efficiency for other teams.
• UI/UX Understanding: A strong appreciation for user-centric design, ensuring products are not only functional but also intuitive and visually appealing.
• Compliance Awareness: Experience working in industries that require compliance with regulations, particularly in managing data securely and efficiently.
