Spectrum is seeking a Technical Writers who have the responsibility to provide working level experience in technical environments to provide services for a USAF client whose efforts are focused on ICBM Integration Support activities. Successful candidates will be a qualifed technical writer with familiarity in one of the following areas: Science, Engineering, Management, Finance, Administrative and Acquisition Systeme, Regulatory Systems and related areas. Preferred candidates have a degree in journalism, English, Fine Arts, Business of Communications with knowledge of the STEM field. This position is based in on-site and may require some travel
Key Roles and Responsibilities
As a Technical Editor, you will advise and assist the United States Government (USG) with authoring technical materials, such as equipment manuals, appendices, or operating and maintenance instructions under guidance of senior-level staff. This candidate will revise and edit reports, articles, manuals, specifications, presentation materials, and other technical documents. They should be able to interprets information obtained through research or provided by technical specialists, apply knowledge of field-specific documentation content and format standards to prepare, edit, and publish technical materials. They must create and ensure various types of documentation are accurate, readable, well organized and geared toward intended user. Apply knowledge and skills to develop improvements to documentation systems, and gather, organize and format information for inclusion in documentation. Finally, they may be responsible for the supervision of junior staff. roduct quality.
Requirements
Experience:
- Well-qualified candidates will have a minimum of 4 years of experience in technical editing.
- Specific position(s) will require appropriate level of technical knowledge, experience and recognized ability to perform tasks within the technical/professional discipline.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Familiarity with one or more of the following areas desirable: Science, Engineering, Management, Finance, Administrative and Acquisition Systems, Regulatory Systems and related areas
- Work experience in tech environments performing technical writing and editing functions
- Expert-level experience in word processing, presentation and spreadsheet software, such as Microsoft Office, Excel and Powerpoint, etc.
- Impeccable written English skills
- Strong team player with outstanding communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
- Strong customer advocate mentality
- Ability to learn new technologies quickly
- Ability to establish and follow style and usage guidelines
- Ability to drive and follow cross-team processes
- Journeyman skillset includes ability to perform all stated/implied duties within this tier and those reasonably derived from preceding tier
Education:
- Prefer at least a Bachelor 's degree in Journalism, English, Fine Arts, Business, or Communications
- Knowledge of specialized field such as Science, Engineering, or another related field with technical writing.
Security Clearance:
- Active Secret Security Clearance to begin work
- Capable of obtaining Top Secret with SCI eligibility
