Full Job Description
ProvenCFO is looking for a seasoned CFO to become a key member of our team. The CFO consultant will deliver expert financial insights and advice to various businesses. We are looking for full-time and part-time CFOs to engage in various projects for our diverse clientele. We take a crawl, walk, run approach. In this role, you will support clients with financial planning and analysis, process improvement initiatives, and overall strategy. Our wide-ranging client base offers exposure to numerous industries and business models, providing fascinating projects and opportunities for professional growth
Responsibilities include:
- Oversee the finance function of the client
- Implement financial controls
- Oversee the work of the controller
- Communication of all items and reporting to client
- Deliver practical, strategic guidance aimed at maximizing value, uncovering opportunities, and mitigating risks
- Identify client needs and maintain the scope of engagement
- Manage financial risks
- Analyze financial statement trends and key performance indicators (KPIs), providing actionable recommendations to help clients address identified insights effectively
- Create and maintain robust financial forecasts and budgets
- Recommend and implement best practices to optimize operations within the finance and accounting department of the client.
- Build relationships with other trusted professional advisors to generate qualified leads for future engagements
The CFO Consultant is expected to learn and maintain all softwares and accounting tools to perform needed client work. They will also make sure we comply with accounting regulations, maximize profits for clients and assist in the mitigation of risks for both ProvenCFO and the client.
Requirements
- 3+ years experience as a CFO
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles, procedures and legislation
- Strong working knowledge of GAAP
- Hands-on experience with general ledger, inventory, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reporting functions
- Good knowledge of accounting software
- CPA or CMA preferred
- BSc or MSc in Accounting or Finance
- Excellent knowledge of advanced functionality in Excel
- Must be very technically proficient and able to move between multiple systems e.g. (Zapier, Make, QBO, Xero, Netsuite, Accumatica, Gusto, Rippling, Fathom, Jirav, Excel, Shopify, etc.)
- Proficiency in planning, organizing, and executing tactical accounting functions for multiple client companies simultaneously
- Capability to evaluate current operations and suggest as well as implement updated and new policies, procedures, and systems
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail
