Service First Mortgage is currently hiring for an Underwriter II.

The Underwriter II will underwrite files according to Service First and Agency guidelines, underwrite files in their work queue utilizing a first in/first out methodology, and clear underwriting conditions on underwritten files.

• Issue mortgage insurance for files requiring MI
• Update the Automated Underwriting System for all loans
• Update and track all information in LQB as required
• Respond to all audit response requests as needed
• Fulfill training requirements as defined by management
• Participate in training sessions as required
• Respond to incoming phone calls/emails from Loan Officers and Loan Processors regarding loan files
• Review Underwriting Scenario/Underwriting Opinions as assigned
• Assist Loan Officers and Loan Processors with program guidelines
• Any additional responsibilities as assigned by management

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree is preferred
• Minimum of 2 years of mortgage underwriting experience
• Must have HUD DE designation and at least one of the following: VA, SAR, USDA certifications
