Las Vegas Petroleum is a rapidly growing operator of travel centers, consisting of gas stations, convenience stores, and restaurants. With 13 Conoco-branded C&G assets in the Las Vegas Metro area and the ability to purchase unbranded fuel through partnerships with Phillips 66, Gulf, Sunoco, 76, and Conoco, we supply over one million gallons of fuel per month to 32 locations. As we expand across the country, we are building out our corporate team to support this growth, ensuring low prices and high service at all of our locations.
Job Summary:
The Travel Center Store Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of the travel center, ensuring a high level of customer service and store performance. This includes managing staff, maintaining inventory, ensuring cleanliness, and implementing effective sales strategies. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional leadership skills and have experience in retail management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operations Management:
- Oversee daily operations of the travel center, ensuring compliance with company policies and safety regulations.
- Maintain a clean and well-organized store environment for customers and staff.
- Implement opening and closing procedures, including cash handling and store security protocols.
- Supervise product displays, stock levels, and overall inventory management.
- Customer Service:
- Drive a customer-first culture, leading by example to deliver outstanding service.
- Handle customer complaints promptly and effectively, ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Foster a welcoming atmosphere that encourages customer engagement.
- Team Leadership:
- Recruit, train, and develop a strong team of store associates.
- Create employee schedules that ensure adequate staffing at all times.
- Conduct performance reviews and offer continual coaching and feedback.
- Sales and Financial Management:
- Achieve sales goals and maximize profitability through effective store management.
- Analyze sales performance data and develop actionable strategies to boost sales.
- Manage operating expenses to ensure the store remains within budget.
- Conduct regular cash management reconciliation and oversee cash handling procedures.
- Inventory Control:
- Ensure efficient inventory management, including ordering and monitoring stock levels.
- Conduct periodic inventory audits to verify accuracy.
- Reduce shrinkage and prevent theft through proactive measures.
- Health and Safety Compliance:
- Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations, including food handling.
- Ensure a safe environment for both customers and employees.
- Train staff on safety protocols and procedures.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in business or retail management is preferred.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a retail management role, preferably in the convenience store or travel center sector.
- Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic understanding of financial principles, including budgeting and reporting.
- Proficient in point-of-sale (POS) systems and Microsoft Office programs.
- Flexibility to work varying hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 30-50 pounds.
- Capable of using standard retail equipment (e.g., cash registers, scanners).
