Full Job Description

Responsible for cultivating and maintaining relationships with Boys Ranch residents and alumni. Assists with the development and provision of all TLP services. Responsible for the coordination of scholarship applications, support and guidance to recipients, and follow-through with caseload. Provides transitional case management for recent graduates of Boys Ranch living outside of the Amarillo area. Specific duties include assisting alumni in the development of aftercare goals, accessing community resources and supporting educational and vocational pursuits.

  • Exhibits the ability to build supportive relationships and display appropriate interactions with residents, scholarship recipients, and alumni.
  • Assists CFBR residents in preparing for post-secondary educational opportunities. This may include budgeting skills, applying for college and/or scholarships and orienting them to available alumni services.
  • Provides CFBR residents, scholarship recipients and alumni with independent living skill training and life skills curriculum.
  • Aids residents and alumni with obtaining permits, driving hours and scheduled driver’s license exams, as well as opening bank accounts and maintaining cell phones.
  • Assist in the coordination of all annual Transitional Living Program events, to include end-of-year celebrations.
  • Maintains caseload comprised of scholarship recipients, as well as alumni seeking transitional living support. Case files shall be kept accurate, current, confidential, and compliant with standards.
  • Provides documented support with assigned transitional living alumni for a minimum of 12 months.
  • Helps alumni set and achieve aftercare goals, including addressing barriers to resources, independent living, educational, and vocational pursuits.
  • Supports alumni through follow-up surveys and reports, collaborating with the TLP and Alumni Support teams.
  • Assists scholarship recipients and alumni in accessing community resources.
  • Provides crisis intervention for residents/alumni as needed, to include the use of approved verbal and physical intervention techniques.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university in Social Work, Child Psychology, Counseling, Human Services Administration or related field required.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ professional experience in a related field is required.
  • Experience in assessing and delivering appropriate services to children and families is required.
  • Basic competency in Microsoft Office for Windows applications (word processing, database, spreadsheet, e-mail, presentation graphics, etc.) is required.
  • Proficiency in general office equipment operation is required.
  • Bending, lifting, grasping, fine hand/eye coordination, pushing/pulling, prolonged sitting/standing.
  • Must possess exceptional time management, detail-orientation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must possess a valid Texas driver’s license.
  • Must be available for travel as needed.
