About the role;
Tax Seniors are key members of their team. Tax Seniors are responsible for preparation of all level business and individual tax returns, state returns, tax research, tax consultation with clients, and developing tax staff. Seniors are expected to lead tax staff, provide on the job training, and work closely with managers and shareholders to coordinate workflow. In addition, seniors are responsible for proactively managing their schedule and completing multiple engagements within established timelines.

Responsibilities
- Prepare and review federal and state tax returns, extensions, quarterly payment projects and year-end planning.
- Display sufficient knowledge of tax law.
- Assume responsibility for effectively and efficiently preparing, supervising, and completing tax returns and tax projections.
- Supervise staff and effectively communicate with supervisors, managers and shareholders on project status and issues.
- Develop and sustain client relationships with new and existing clients.
- Display the ability to prioritize and multitask, have strong organizational skills, and be deadline and detail oriented.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
Requirements
- Accounting degree completed (Bachelor’s or higher).
- Certified Public Accountant is preferred. If CPA license has not been obtained, candidate must be actively testing and making progress towards completing all parts of the exam.
- 2 to 4 years of experience working in public accounting and preparing business and individual income tax returns.
- Experience with tax research and providing written memorandums for internal and external purposes.
- Experience training and developing new tax staff members.
- Excellent written and verbal proficiency. This position requires communication with clients, shareholders, and staff, and may include occasional public speaking and presentations.
- Previous experience with accounting research tools. Previous experience with tax software CCH® and Engagement® is preferred but not required.
- Previous experience in the following industries is preferred but not required: Construction, Service, Medical, Transportation, Cross-Border Taxes
- Must be able to work in the field and in the office on a full-time basis. The position will only occasionally involve working remotely.

Based on candidate’s experience. Compensation is determined based on the local market, with possibility of annual raises. Details will be provided to interested candidates during interview process.
