Supreme Integrated Technology is looking for an Operations Manager to take the next step in their career with leadership responsibility with responsibility for directing and coordinating the activities of the assigned departments of his or her business location and increasing levels of customer and employee satisfaction while improving efficiency of manpower, materials, and machines. SIT’s engineering expertise transforms ideas into success for hydraulic and electric powered moveable structures. SIT specializes in custom systems and projects, making every project unique and offering the opportunity to solve challenge problems for customers. Our projects are typically for defense, marine, oil & gas, civil work (movable bridges) and industrial power unit applications. The Operations Manager works together with SIT leadership in formulating and administering organization policies by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate managers or other direct reports. The Operations Manager - Houston reports directly to the Vice President of Operations.

Specific responsibilities may include: 

  • Participate in formulating and administering company policies and directing and coordinating all department activities to develop and implement long range goals and objectives to meet business and profitability growth objectives.
  • Utilize the company’s ERP system to assign and allocate the appropriate resources to ensure accurate production planning and scheduling for all projects, ensuring alignment with company production goals including on-time delivery, profitability, and adherence to company quality standards.
  • Review and support assigned departments to oversee design concepts with fundamental or new technology used for new or existing products or improvement to provide cost reduction, safety, customer requirements, and market growth.
  • Review analysis of activities, cost, operations, and forecast data to determine departmental progress toward stated goals and objectives.
  • Confer with company leadership to review achievements and discuss required changes in goals or objectives resulting from current conditions.
  • Oversee each assigned department to review reports and resolve operational and facility problems to ensure minimum cost, prevent operational delays, and meet future growth.
  • Develop, review, update, and implement business strategic planning, including financial performance and overall operational development of his or her business location.
  • Provide leadership support for employee relations through effective communications, coaching, training, and development.
  • Hire, train, motivate, counsel, and monitor the performance of all direct reports.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, OSHA, health, safety, environment, and on-time delivery at the lowest possible cost.
  • Carry out all duties and responsibilities in an ethical and conscientious manner.
  • Support and participate in the organization’s continual improvement program, to conform to ISO 9001 requirements and understand the implications of not conforming with the Quality Management System requirements:

o   Ensure processes are delivering their intended outputs.

o   Ensure the promotion of customer focus throughout his or her business location.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education & Training

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent secondary education.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher is preferred.
  • Other technical certifications or degrees may be considered.
  • Experience as described below may be accepted in lieu of education.

Experience

  • Over five (5) years of experience in operations, manufacturing, sales, customer service, or technical fields.
  • Previous experience in hydraulic, electrical, and/or mechanical systems and components (design, assembly, and/or repair) is strongly preferred.
  • Previous experience with a manufacturing-based ERP system is strongly preferred.
  • Education as described above may be accepted in lieu of experience.
  • Experience working in an ISO 9001 environment a plus.

  • An exceptional working knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and/or mechanical systems and components.

  • Basic marketing understanding.
  • Basic accounting understanding.
