Full Job Description
A Sign Fabricator specializes in the creation of signs for commercial businesses or other organizations. Duties include designing a plan or working from blueprints. Fabricators work with various types of materials that may require specialized tools, such as vinyl, wood, or metal. They are responsible for building the sign to size and design specifications.
Duties
- Operate power tools and hand tools to fabricate metal components
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Measure and cut materials according to specifications
- Assemble and fit components to create finished products
- Conduct quality control inspections to ensure product accuracy and integrity
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects on time
Requirements
Skills
- Proficient in operating power tools and hand tools for fabrication purposes
- Strong welding skills preferred but not required
- Knowledge of basic math for accurate measurements and calculations
- Familiarity with duct work fabrication and installation processes
- Experience in machining and pipe threading is a plus
- Familiarity with operating a press brake machine for bending metal components, routing table, etc.
