The Avenue is a female-led business that has led the market in online retail with distinctive content creation, cutting edge marketing strategies and a unique platform highlighting other small businesses, artisans and creatives around the world. We are a bootstrapped company based in the Houston area. Within a few fast-paced years, we've built a multi-million dollar brand with 15 full-time employees.

As our full-time Showroom Manager, this individual will run and operate our storefront in central Houston. The role will require reporting to the storefront Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm and occasional traveling for trunk shows and off-site events. This role will work directly with the marketing, buying, operations and fulfillment teams to support their areas of the business, and the individual will report to the Operations Manager.

Full-time support will be needed Monday - Saturday 8am - 5pm and sometimes later with holidays and events.

This position is for Houston area candidates only and will be paid with an annualized salary with compensation dependent on level of experience in the industry.

Retail, merchandising and event management experience is required.

Must be willing to travel 2-3 times a month for pop-ups, road + trunk shows.

Requirements

  • Lead all showroom efforts from sales to merchandising to in-store events.
  • Monitor execution of opening and closing procedures and ensure visual standards are met.
  • Field all incoming customer service calls to the storefront line and support as needed or direct them to the right staff member.
  • Book all maintenance needs to keep the space tidy, clean and well organized.
  • Regularly organize the backstock area upstairs and implement strategic efforts to ensure products can be located efficiently.
  • Plan in-store events, local off-site pop-ups and traveling trunk shows and serve as point-of-contact for brand partners and participating vendors.
  • Spearhead conceptual planning, styling, menus and support creative direction and logistics of events.
  • Ensure clients have an elevated and pleasant shopping experience.
  • Support in the selection, placement and presentation of product for the showroom.
  • Manage strategy for seasonal & evergreen in-store brand and product communication.
  • Work with Creative for seasonal merchandising of WEAR & LIVE product to ensure social and online aligns with showroom aesthetic.
  • Ensure inventory levels maintain accuracy at showroom location.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of fashion and retail trends.
  • Lead all organization efforts in the showroom including backstock.
  • Lead local client relations and spearhead ensure exceptional shopping experience and service is maintained.
  • Assist local clients with styling: outfits, table settings, gift curation.
  • Monitor order pick-ups and delivery.
  • Communicate needs to marketing to increase showroom foot traffic.
  • Propose styling tools and products needed to display product and optimize space in showroom.
  • Provide feedback for store design, layout and flow.
  • Lead communication of needs from shipping facility and Shasta for samples, floor models, etcetera.
  • Obtain local registry clients.
  • Make appointments to help brides make selects and ensure they are communicating their registry to their list on their site, receive their gift and serve as a constant liaison and touch point to the site during this season of their life.
  • Support in the selection, placement and presentation of registry product for the showroom.
  • Assist with sourcing and producing elevated packaging and rebranding collateral used for in-store experience.
  • Keep Lyndsey and buying leads privy to in-store sales: popular items, showroom models needed, customer feedback.
  • Must have a go-getter and "yes!" attitude and positive spirit.
  • Must be a team player.
