Full Job Description
What's the opportunity?
This is a full time position.
We're currently building out a product team that will work on our entire platform and make sure we create the best industrial remote access product on the market. We care deeply about creating useful and delightful experiences. It matters how our products function and it matters how they look.
We work in the intersection of Business and Engineering and we are a small team, full of generalists, in which every person participates in solving problems, prototyping ideas, and improving our product. We want you to be a person that can see a problem, solve it, and own shipping that project end to end.
In this early stage of building our product team, we are looking for designers with several years of experience and a wide range of experience designing different types of products. As a Senior Product Designer, you will mainly work on building and enhancing Dashboard (the admin console) and our native applications. But, you will also help establish a design culture within the company, contribute to the product direction of the company, and help to further build out our product team. This role will have a direct impact on the daily operations of our customers, ranging from smaller companies to large enterprises, utilizing Dispel's remote access solutions.
Location
We are a 100% fully remote company (U.S. only). You are welcome to use our office in Brooklyn, New York City.
Salary
$127k-140k. Salary is dependent on the location you reside in.
Requirements
Basic Qualifications
- You have 7+ years of experience designing applications (web and native) in cross-functional product teams. You are comfortable working across strategy development, visual design, prototyping, and interaction design.
- You have outstanding interaction and UI skills.
- You create flows and experiences that can realistically be built within a given time-frame and you care about how practical and easy to use your designs are. Both from a design perspective and from an engineering perspective.
- You want to keep building out and evolve our internal design system.
- You have experience working through complex problems and can untangle business requirements that are sent to you.
- You want to build a design team and help build a design culture within our company.
- You are a fast learner. Degrees and certificates aren't a determining factor for us. We value your ability to care about your work and learn fast.
- You have experience with Git and Figma.
- You can use HTML + CSS + basic Javascript.
- You have a succinct portfolio highlighting your 3 best projects.
Extra Credit
- You can build and polish features directly in code (React ideally, as that is what Dashboard is built in). This reduces time spent communicating, and increases time executing and building.
Good Personal Traits
- You are dedicated to building diverse and inclusive product teams.
- You have a customer-centric mindset with a commitment to delivering substantial business impact.
- You can navigate complex problems while keeping sight of the overall product vision.
- You have a willingness to accept failure and feedback, learn and try again.
- You have a passion for learning new disciplines and gaining a deep understanding of how others on the team do their work.
- You have an ability to communicate clearly and succinctly both in-person and over team chat. Communication (sync and async) and team culture are important to Dispel as we’re a fully remote company. These criteria are soft, but relax and be genuine.
