Summary
Rystad Energy is seeking an analytical and detail-oriented individual to join our North American oilfield services research team. Senior Analysts are responsible for analyzing North American unconventional oilfield service markets through a combination of data analysis and primary research. The successful candidate will need to be detail-oriented, have a passion for data and statistical analysis, be comfortable with clients, be an excellent communicator and work as part of a remote team. Candidates with field engineering experience across various domains within the oil and gas space are preferred (drilling services, completion services, production services).
Job responsibilities include creating data models, PowerPoint decks and research notes analyzing and forecasting supply, demand and pricing drivers for various onshore service markets in North America. Senior Analysts are expected to be self-starters and conduct data analysis and market research with minimal supervision. This role will also be client-facing, and successful candidates are expected to present findings from market research and analysis at client sites, industry or Rystad Energy events.
Job Responsibilities
- Serve as the lead researcher conducting market analysis and forecasts for the North American unconventional oilfield services space with minimal supervision.
- Solve clients' business problems by creating internal workflows, including data analysis, primary research through interviews, and data gathering from public and proprietary sources.
- Maintain and expand the network of primary intelligence sources in the oil and gas industry.
- Assist with business development activities such as sharing market views, explaining the methodology and research processes through virtual presentations or in-person presentations at industry or Rystad Energy events.

Requirements
- 3 to 5 years of experience in oil and gas energy research, consulting / consulting-like environment or oil & gas field engineering
- University degree (Master’s / Bachelor’s) in a data-driven or energy field (mathematics, statistics, data analytics, petroleum engineering) or MBA
- Candidates with oil and gas onshore field engineering experience across multiple domains (drilling, completions, production services) are preferred.
- Travel: 10% mainly domestic
Preferred Skills:
- Excellent working knowledge and understanding of the unconventional onshore services space (pressure pumping, drilling services, water management, artificial lift, etc.)
- Ability to conduct market sizing and forecasting analysis for niche onshore service markets along with supply and pricing drivers
- General experience with statistical analytics, including regression analysis, data smoothing, trend analysis, ANOVA
- Ability to present and defend market views and research at public events or client sites
- Excellent writing, presentation and communication skills
- Outstanding team player with a sense of initiative
