Job Purpose:

We are seeking a Senior Accounts Payable Accountant to join our vibrant team and help us to spread the joy of gardening! If you have relevant experience and are passionate about sustainable living and making a difference, we would love to have you on our team!

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the accounts payable function and ensure timely and accurate payment of invoices. 
  • Manage vendor relationships and resolve any issues or discrepancies.
  • Reconcile accounts payable transactions and maintain accurate records. 
  • Analyzing financial data related to accounts payable transactions, including identifying trends and patterns, managing operating cash flow, and making recommendations for process improvements or cost savings.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as accounting standards and regulations.
  • Develop and implement new policies and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy of the accounts payable function.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the accounts receivable function. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and accurate payment of invoices. 
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports related to accounts payable. 
  • Supporting internal and external audits of the accounts payable system, providing documentation, and answering any questions related to accounts payable transactions. 
  • Provide guidance and support to junior accountants, reviewing their work, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.
  • Assist with other accounting and finance projects as needed.

Requirements

Required Experience, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required, Master’s degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of professional accounting experience.
  • Public accounting firm experience is a plus, e-commerce working experience is a plus. 
  • Capable of working in a fast-changing internet environment and adept at quickly learning new business-related software.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Excel formulas (Pivot Table, VLOOKUP and SUMIF etc.).
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills and an aptitude for finding creative solutions. 

Physical Demands:

This position primarily involves working at a desk and operating a computer for prolonged periods with moderate walking and standing.

Job Location and Work Schedule:

  • This is a full-time, on-site position in Tomball, TX.
  • 13808 Boudreaux Road, Bldg. #2, Tomball, TX 77377
  • Monday through Friday
  • 8:30 AM to 5:000 PM. Lunch break 12:00 pm to 12:30 pm.

Total Rewards:

  • The salary range is $60,000 - $75,000.
