Full Job Description
Western Specialty Contractors is expanding our Roofing team in Austin, TX. For this role, we are looking for a hands-on leader with 10+ years of experience in commercial, low-slope roofing. Pay is dependent on experience and ranges from $35-40+ per hour.
As a Lead Tech, you will:
- Identify existing and predictable hazards to work surroundings, including working conditions that are unsanitary, hazardous or dangerous to employees.
- Communicate effectively to supervise employees and maintain customer relations.
- Identify and investigate leaks, and lead and carry out patching and repair projects in all types of commercial roofs.
- Climb and maintain balance on ladders and scaffolds.
- Oversee and maintain company safety requirements.
- Other tasks as required based on business need.
Requirements
- Must be able to demonstrate sufficient reading, writing and math skills to comprehend and explain company safety policies and material instruction.
- The ability to read drawings is necessary.
- Physically, workers must be able to: Stand or walk for long periods; lift and carry materials weighing 50 pounds or more; climb up and down ladders, scaffolds, and other objects and carry tools and equipment; and see (naturally or with correction).
- Ability to work at heights, at extreme temperatures, and to wear company's safety equipment is essential.
- Experience with crew leadership and professional communication with customers.
- Proficient with leak investigations/roofing patch and repairs in all types of commercial roofs, to include:
- TPO
- PVC
- Asphalt BUR/Gravel
- EPDM
- Cold Process
- Fluid Applied
- Etc.
- Bilingual preferred
- Knowledge of Microsoft Suite, Data Forma, and Edge platforms preferred
- Must have reliable transportation and pass a drug screening
