Full Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to run our Blood Thinner Clinic at Cardiology Center of Amarillo.
Duties:
-Perform finger-stick INR test and give warfarin dose adjustments per protocols.
- Order and schedule outpatient labs approximately every 6 months for patients on Eliquis or Xarelto.
- Assist patients with assistance paperwork for high cost medications.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding their anticoagulant needs.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to maintain patient safety on anticoagulant medications.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records
- Adhere to all safety protocols and infection control measures
Requirements:
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Texas.
- Proficient in medication administration, and other nursing procedures
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Compassionate and empathetic attitude towards patients
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities

Responsibilities
- Monitor patient’s condition and assess their needs to provide the best possible care and advice
- Observe and interpret patient’s symptoms and communicate them to physicians
- Collaborate with physicians and nurses to devise individualized care plans for patients
- Perform routine INR checks and fill in patients’ charts
- Adjust patient’s medication and provide treatments according to physician's orders
- Inspect the facilities and act to maintain excellent hygiene and safety (decontaminating equipment, sanitizing surfaces etc.)
- Foster a supportive and compassionate environment to care for patients and their families
Requirements
- Proven experience as a registered nurse
- Excellent knowledge of nursing care methods and procedures
- Excellent knowledge of emergency care
- In-depth knowledge of health and safety guidelines and procedures (sanitation, decontamination etc.) and willingness to follow them at all times
- A team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Responsible and compassionate
- Outstanding organizational and multi-tasking skills
- Patient with excellent problem-solving skills
- BSc or other diploma from a nursing program
- Valid nursing license
