Full Job Description

The Production Supervisor will perform and it will outline the correct procedures that will ensure safety of the worker and others, while preserving the product quality and traceability.

 Scope - As the Production Supervisor, you are responsible for the operations during your shifts, for ensuring that all the products packaged then are safe to consume and have the highest standards of quality, that each product packaged fulfills the customer’s specifications and that we maintain the highest utilization of the resources.

You must coordinate the work activities and resources during your shift, based on the production schedule. The following is a list of responsibilities and expectations assigned to your position. Please see your manager if you have any questions.

As in any position in which you may handle food products and/or packaging materials, personal hygiene and safety are paramount. You are responsible for always following all the sanitation guidelines and the GMPs during your workday; this includes but it is not limited to wearing a clean t-shirt, long pants and closed shoes, washing and sanitizing your hands periodically, not wearing any jewelry, wearing hairnet and/or beard net as applicable in the designated areas, and not eating or drinking outside of designated areas. 

You are responsible for following the Safety guidelines and for working diligently to help prevent any accident in the facility, and to prevent damage to the product.

Requirements

  • Ensure the GMPs are always followed and enforce them for all employees and visitors.
  • Ensure the Quality Technicians follow the indicated procedures to make sure the Critical Control Point is monitored and validated as indicated by the HACCP plan. You will be the backup for the Quality Specialists when needed, for the various quality checks throughout the shift.
  • Make sure the procedures are followed and any deviation from the procedures is informed to the corresponding personnel – Management, Quality or the customer, as applicable.
  • Ensure the operations are performed in an efficient way by striving to have full utilization of the resources.
  • Organize and assign available resources to the required tasks based on the schedule and various activities to ensure the schedule attainment is met. Whenever it is not met, track the reasons for the deviation and communicate with the proper parties in order to prevent recurrence of these instances.
  • Responsible for reporting the performance of the shift at the end of it, indicating the attainment of each line, any quality or safety issues arising during the shift and the confirmation of material set up for the following shift. When full attainment is not achieved, indicate the reasons and suggested steps to avoid recurrence.
  • Train personnel on the proper utilization of logs and forms and monitor the proper utilization of these.
  • Supervise the paperwork, ensure all the forms are properly and timely filled out, and verify the validity of the production information for the lines, with the end of shift report.
  • Continuously look for alternatives to reduce waste and scrap.
  • Ensure all the paperwork for your shift is complete, signed and accurate.
  • Verify the validity of the information, mass balance and ensure the yield losses are reasonable and justified.
  • Process the work orders in iRely and close them timely and correctly to ensure the inventory is always accurate.
  • Support and ensure the proper culture is promoted, to make every employee aware and accountable for the quality and sanitation of all the areas in the facility.
  • Coordinate the human resources according to the operational needs. Manage the personnel during your shift.
  • Maintain good communications with the warehouse team and facilitate teamwork. Ensure the materials are received timely from the warehouse.
  • Maintain good communications with the customer, ensure their requests are attended to and their needs fulfilled.
  • Work on continuous improvement initiatives, to maintain and improve the KPIs on a permanent basis. Identify trends and opportunities for improvement, and discuss them with the employees, with the customer and with the warehouse as needed.

 

Should the situation arise, you will complete any additional task assigned to you by your Manager.
