We are looking for a Product Certification Engineer to join our Product Development team and develop our PowerPack technology into a marketable product meeting applicable regulations, codes and standards. You will be responsible for identifying codes and standards applicable to our products, analyzing our products for compliance with these standards, interacting with certification agencies, and coordinating the testing/certification process for our products. This role will be instrumental in transitioning our technology from prototypes into finished products marketable worldwide.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Serve as Amogy’s subject matter expert on product certification, codes and standards.
- Advise Amogy’s product engineering and manufacturing teams on product certification requirements for different regions, industries, and product applications.
- Develop testing methodologies and procedures as a part of Amogy technology qualification efforts.
- Develop strategies for measuring and assessing the performance KPIs of Amogy new technology.
- Assist and coordinate risk assessment trainings and sessions in accordance with relevant standards (FMEA/FMECA, HAZID/HAZOP, etc.)
- Identify all applicable codes and standards affecting Amogy’s products and assess whether our products meet these regulations.
- Represent Amogy during meetings and workshops with regulatory and certification agencies.
- Coordinate product testing and certification processes required to market Amogy’s products.
- Create and maintain product documentation for compliance with codes and standards.
- Support and lead efforts in maritime certification paths (Technology Qualification, Unit Certification, Type Approval) and stationary certification paths.
Requirements
- BS/MS in a relevant engineering field (e.g., mechanical, electrical, aerospace, marine, etc.).
- 5-10+ years' work experience with product certification, codes, and standards.
- Experienced with interacting with regulatory agencies for product certification.
- Experience with ISO 9000 set and product conformity to UL and CE standards.
- Experience with industry standards like ANSI, ASTM, ASME, CGA, IEC, ISO, and NFPA.
- Experience with national directives and regulations like the CFR and OSHA.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to travel 25% of the time
- Ability to work in a fast paced and agile work environment.
- Work experience in maritime or chemical processing industries.
- Experience with chemical/electrochemical equipment (especially fuel cells, combustion engines, or catalytic reactors).
- Experience working with maritime classification and certification agencies.
- Experience working with Hydrogen related codes.
