Job Summary

The Restore Health Data Research Associate has an MS (preferred) in data science and reports to the Director of Research and Education and Chief Medical Officer. They are responsible for maintaining and analyzing the growing and evolving interventional and large observational data sets. To do this they must be technologically savvy, have a strong understanding of statistics and statistical programming/coding, and know how the data they will be managing fits into the aspects of the Restore infrastructure. Responsibilities include: data management and analysis, creation of reports and dashboards, dissemination of data, understanding the role of data and management of the database itself. Note: this is unique from the current business informatics and analytics data scientists and engineers as this person must also be a subject matter expert to understand and manipulate the data.

Job Status: Part-Time, Non-Exempt
Scheduling: Up to 15 hours per week
Compensation: $15-18 an hour

Responsibilities

Research

• Execute and implement research protocols; design safety procedures; adapt new procedures, methods or instrumentation relative to research procedures.
• Collect, prepare and analyze research data;  keep a detailed notebook summarizing experiments and recording research data;  maintain computer database of research data;  tabulate and display data for presentation in research conferences and for manuscript preparation;  use graphics and statistical software to analyze and present data.
• Assist with ordering and procurement of supplies and equipment and with general maintenance of RestoreLabs
• Create and pursue opportunities to present and discuss RestoreLabs leading-edge discoveries to funders, fitness and healthcare stakeholders
• Support dissemination of RestoreLabs research through peer-reviewed journals, gray literature publications, conference papers, blog posts, social media, and other channels
• Participate in key academic and industry conferences and forums, as well as expert groups and advisory committees, to engage with key players in the wellness sector

Education

• Develop and maintain educational modules and delivery mechanisms to deepen and expand Restore Hyper Wellness franchise owners, managers and staff expertise and know-how in the Hyper Wellness Space; such processes could include targeted internal staff trainings, distinguished speaker series, and informal knowledge exchange among staff members

Requirements

• Data Science Degree (BS, MS preferred)
• Ability to program and code in R, Python, SAS, etc
• Minimum 2-3 years conducting human studies and clinical research specifically in the exercise, nutrition, and supplementation sector
• Minimum 2-3 years developing educational curriculum for healthcare and wellness professionals
• Innovative scientist who is strategic and passionate about Restore Hyper Wellness’ mission and delivering solutions that work for our clients 
• Nimble and curious research mind keen to pursue innovative data collection, analyses, and dissemination opportunities 
• Strong oral and written communication skills which include ability to present information dynamically in a compelling format at in person and online events 
• Ability to think critically and problem solve
