We are seeking our next Nursing Center Supervisor who will be all-in on our mission and who will supervise the Nursing Resource Center (NRC) including planning, organizing, and implementing activities.
EDUCATION:
Required: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree from an accredited baccalaureate program of nursing.
Preferred: Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred or can show progression to MSN degree.
CERTIFICATIONS:
Preferred: Current and unencumbered license to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Texas.
EXPERIENCE:
Required: One (1) year or more of recent experience as a staff nurse in an acute care setting.
Preferred: Three (3) years or more of experience as a staff nurse in an acute care setting.
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist students and faculty in locating and using instructional media and instructional supplies and equipment.
- Assist the Instructor of the NRC with scheduling, planning, and coordinating lab activities within the NRC.
- Prepare the NRC for various scheduled lab activities.
- Manage inventory, order, and maintain supplies and equipment to support NRC functions.
- Assist faculty in the supervised practice of students’ nursing skills individually and/or in small groups.
- Assist students identify instructional resources available in the NRC to promote learning consistent with course and program outcomes.
- Ensure security of NRC instructional materials, supplies, and equipment.
- Maintain the NRC environment in a clean and orderly manner.
- Participate in the systematic evaluation of the NRC processes and outcomes.
- Promote standards of practice excellence in the NRC among students and faculty.
- Communicate all updates or revisions in skills competency teaching and testing with level or team coordinators.
- Introduce and train part-time staff assistants and student workers on NRC practices.
- Act as a substitute clinical teaching assistant (CTA) in ADN Program clinical areas as qualified and assigned by the ADN Assistant Program Director.
- Provide substitute clinical coverage in the VN Program as qualified and assigned by the LVN Program Director.

- Ability to ensure security of NRC instructional materials, supplies, and equipment.
- Ability to Promoting standards of practice excellence in the NRC among students and faculty.
- Ability to maintain professional boundaries with students.
- Ability to protect confidentiality of student information.
- Ability to Maintaining communication with level or team coordinators in relation to updates or revisions in skills competency teaching and testing.
- Ability to maintain professional competency through clinical practice and/or continuing education.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to travel between offices and buildings, and requires the ability to lift, carry, push, pull and/or maneuver office supplies as needed.
Working Environment: This position operates in a professional office environment, routinely uses standard office equipment (i.e. computers, phones, copy and fax machines, filing cabinets) and is in a high traffic area with continual interruptions. Software commonly used includes Microsoft Office, Colleague, and various other educational applications. Work may also be performed outside of the office and with little to no supervision.
Salary: Amarillo College Pay Grades, Pay grade 10 (salary is determined by human resources based on education, work experience and equity)
