Mining Operations Manager

Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mining Operations Manager to oversee the daily operations of our off-grid mining facilities. This role requires a deep understanding of both bitcoin mining and general awareness of off-grid power systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for maximizing mining efficiency, ensuring equipment uptime, managing a team of technicians, and optimizing power usage in remote off-grid locations.

Responsibilities:

1. Operations Management:

   - Oversee all aspects of the mining operation, including equipment setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

   - Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure smooth operations and maximize mining efficiency.

   - Monitor mining performance metrics and implement strategies to optimize hash rate and profitability.

2. Team Leadership:

   - Lead a team of technicians responsible for equipment maintenance, repairs, and upgrades.

   - Provide training and guidance to team members to ensure adherence to safety protocols and operational best practices.

   - Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment to promote employee engagement and productivity.

3. Power System Optimization:

   - Manage off-grid power systems, including solar, wind, or hybrid systems, to ensure reliable and efficient power supply to the mining operation.

   - Implement strategies to maximize power generation and usage efficiency, optimizing for cost-effectiveness and sustainability.

   - Troubleshoot power system issues and coordinate with external vendors for repairs and upgrades as needed.

4. Risk Management:

   - Identify potential risks to the mining operation, such as equipment failures, power outages, or security breaches, and develop mitigation plans.

   - Maintain a comprehensive understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance standards related to bitcoin mining and off-grid power systems.

5. Reporting and Analysis:

   - Prepare regular reports on mining performance, power usage, and operational expenses for management review.

   - Conduct data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement in mining efficiency and profitability.

Requirements

Qualifications:

- Proven experience in bitcoin mining operations, with a strong understanding of bitcoin mining algorithms and hardware.

- Extensive knowledge of off-grid power systems, including natural gas generators, solar, or wind technologies.

- Previous experience managing a team in a technical or engineering environment.

- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively to overcome challenges in remote off-grid locations.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.

- Familiarity with industry-standard mining software and monitoring tools.

- Commitment to safety, environmental sustainability, and regulatory compliance.

Location:

This position will be based at our off-grid bitcoin mining facility, located in College Station, Texas.
