Full Job Description

Join our team as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS), Medical Technologist, or Clinical Laboratory Scientist, where you'll play a pivotal role in patient care through high-quality laboratory testing and diagnostics. In this position, you'll be responsible for ensuring accurate, timely, and reliable test results in a collaborative and dynamic environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Specimen Evaluation: Assess the acceptability of specimens for testing based on established guidelines and standards.
  • Testing Procedures: Conduct routine and complex laboratory procedures, following departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to deliver reliable results.
  • Instrumentation Oversight: Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment to maintain optimal functionality and accuracy.
  • Technical Decision-Making: Apply problem-solving skills to make sound technical decisions during testing processes.
  • Reagent & Control Preparation: Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls to support accurate testing.
  • Result Reporting: Ensure timely and precise reporting of test results, directly impacting patient care quality.
  • Maintenance & Quality Control: Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control checks to uphold laboratory standards.
  • Supply Management: Identify and replenish supplies at the testing bench as necessary, ensuring smooth laboratory operations.
  • Specimen Processing: Assist with specimen processing to maintain efficiency and workflow.
  • Safety Compliance: Maintain a safe working environment by following safety protocols and using personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

Requirements

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or equivalent qualification per CLIA and state regulations.
  • Experience: 0-2 years of clinical laboratory testing experience.
  • ASCP or AMT
  • Night shift
